At the very beginning, our focus was on organizing group travel by coach. In the 1970s we decided to establish a travel agency for individual air travel. These specialities were later expanded to include incentive trips, shore operations and events both domestically and abroad.

1953 – 1990: coach trips and air travel
The roots of De Buck, established by Gerard De Buck in 1953, lie in group travel by coach. Later in the seventies this is supplemented with a travel agency for individual air travel.
1991-2000: incentives and shore excursions
In 1991 the present managing partner Frank Bouckaert joins the team. Thanks to his marketing experience with Mars Inc. he is ideally placed to introduce the incentive concept to De Buck.
As the agency now has the individual air travel and the incentive experience in-house, the first airborne incentives are proposed. In the meantime, De Buck is discovered by the American maritime company which has in its fleet, amongst other vessels, the Love Boat. The shore excursions become a real trade mark, De Buck becoming the market leader for the BENELUX.
2001-now: events and tailor-made travel
In 2002 Jan Dierickx becomes managing partner whereupon De Buck launches events, even though they can be technically very complicated. This is a success: more and more companies quoted on the Belgian stock exchange employ the De Buck event team not only to organize their incentive trips (with worldwide destinations) but also their events (from teambuilding to congress meetings)
The travel agency for families concentrates more on tailor-made travel which are sold only by appointment. School outings and cycling events also become a speciality.
