Be surprised and be pampered.
One of the many highlights of this trip was the visit to the Angkor complex which went off in a light-hearted way … we were taken around on mopeds driven by Cambodians. It was quiet hilarious to see the diminutive Cambodians drive the big sturdy Belgians around on their mopeds. The group was further blessed by a group of monks in orange sarongs, at the next stop gifts were exchanged with schoolchildren and lunch was preceded by a back massage. Music was brought by the Landmine Victim Orchestra! A visit that brought the group goose pimples was that in which, accompanied by local students, a wreath was laid at the killing fields’ memorial near Phnom Penh. One of the better moments was when the group enjoyed a collective foot massage around the pool at the Raffles hotel. We ended up on a Thai island in a hotel where every room had its own private pool.
